Your baby needs 11mg of iron a day. We built a box around that.
From 6 months, babies need iron that food actually delivers. The Iron Rich Power Box is 6 chef-made frozen meals built around that — real iron sources, real ingredients, ready when you need them.
No lock-in. Pause or cancel any time.
WHY IRON, WHY NOW
The iron gap nobody warns you about
Around six months, the iron your baby was born with starts to run low. It's just how it works, not something you've done wrong. From here it has to come from food — and it's the nutrient Aussie babies fall short on most. Here's the part no one really explains, and how we've made it one less thing to think about.
The six-month switch
Babies are born with an iron store that lasts about six months. After that, breastmilk and formula can't keep up on their own — food has to do the heavy lifting.
It's the easiest gap to miss
Low iron rarely looks like much at first. It shows up quietly — in energy, sleep and appetite — which is exactly why it's the most common deficiency in babies 6 to 12 months.
We built the box around it
Six chef-made meals, each chosen for real iron — from gentle pumpkin dahl to iron-dense liver you'd never know was in there. Purees, textures and finger foods, so iron's handled at every meal.
No spreadsheets, no cooking liver on a Sunday. Just real food that quietly does the job.

Could your baby be low on iron?
Low iron is common and easy to miss. Tick anything that sounds like your little one. It takes ten seconds, and it's not a diagnosis — just a way to know what to look for.
This is a guide, not a diagnosis. If you're ever worried about your baby's iron, have a chat with your GP or child health nurse — a quick check is all it takes.
Iron-rich Power Box(6M+)
Iron is the most commonly deficient nutrient in babies aged 6 to 12 months. Most parents don't find out until it's already a problem.
We built this box so you don't have to worry about it. Six chef-created meals, every one specifically selected for iron content, covering purees, textured meals and finger foods so your little one gets variety AND nutrition in every single meal.
What's inside:
- Pumpkin Dahl (Stage 1, 6m+): Creamy pumpkin blended with iron-rich lentils. A gentle, comforting first introduction to plant-based iron, smooth enough for brand-new eaters.
- Winter Veg & Liver (Stage 2, 6m+): Hearty winter vegetables with iron-dense liver. One of the highest natural sources of iron you can give a baby, made delicious enough that they'll actually eat it. We gently steam the liver, which keeps the flavour mild and holds onto the B12 that hard, fast cooking loses.
- Salmon, Whitebean & Carrot (Stage 2, 6m+): Omega-3 rich Atlantic salmon with creamy white beans and sweet carrot. Supports brain development alongside iron intake.
- Tender Lamb Baba Ghanoush (Stage 3, 8m+): Slow-cooked lamb with smoky eggplant. Bold Mediterranean flavour with a chunkier texture, so pop this one in the freezer and save it for when they're ready for Stage 3.
- Greek Style Meatballs (BLW/Finger Food, 6m+): Halal certified beef with spinach, garlic and Mediterranean herbs. Iron-packed, perfectly sized for little hands, ideal for self-feeding.
- Lamb Koftas (BLW/Finger Food, 6m+): Spiced halal lamb koftas crafted for little hands and big appetites. One of our most popular finger foods, and parents keep reordering these.
- Dietitian-approved recipes
- Covers all feeding stages: purees, textured meals and finger foods
- Halal certified meats, no preservatives
- Available in 1×, 2× or 3× quantities
- Snap-frozen and delivered across Australia
First-time orders only. One use per customer.
Frequently asked questions
How much iron is actually in each meal?
Every meal in the box is built around a real iron source — liver, lamb, beef, salmon, lentils, white beans — not a sprinkle of fortification. We pick the cuts and combos chefs use for iron density, then pair them with vitamin C–rich veg and fruit, because that's what helps little bodies absorb iron from food.
They're still breastfed or on formula — do they really need this?
Yes, and it's the bit that catches most parents out. Babies are born with an iron store that runs low around six months, and from then milk alone doesn't top it back up. That's why solids from 6 months are meant to lead with iron-rich foods. This box just makes that part easy — it's not instead of milk, it's the food piece alongside it.
Isn't liver too strong for a baby?
It's gentler than it sounds. The liver is a small part of a balanced meal, slow-cooked and blended with winter veg so the flavour is mild and slightly sweet — not the strong liver taste you might be picturing. Most babies have no idea it's in there, and it's one of the highest natural iron sources you can give them.
How do I know if my baby is low on iron?
Low iron is common and quiet. It can show up as tiredness, paleness, or less interest in food, but often there are no obvious signs at all — which is why it's easy to miss. This isn't something to diagnose at home. If you're ever unsure, your GP or child health nurse can do a quick finger-prick check. Keeping iron-rich meals in the rotation is a simple way to stay ahead of it either way.
Can a baby have too much iron?
From real food, it's very hard to overdo it — your baby's body manages iron from meals well. The thing to be careful with is iron supplements, which should only be given if your GP has recommended them. Food-based iron, like the meals in this box, is the safe, everyday way to cover it.
How do I heat the meals?
Pop a cube straight from the freezer into a small bowl, microwave on medium-high for about 90 seconds, stir, then add 20–30 seconds if the centre's still cold. Plain heating instructions are on every pack, plus stovetop and oven. Always test the temperature on your wrist first — frozen food can have hot pockets after a microwave.
What if my baby won't eat one of the meals?
First refusal isn't the final word. Most babies need 8 to 12 goes at a new flavour before they're sold. Try it again next meal, or mix it with one they already love. If after a fair go they're rejecting every single one in the box, message us and we'll sort you out.
How long does it last in the freezer?
Up to 12 months from production, and every tray's labelled with a best-before date. Don't cool and reheat a second time. If they're not finishing a full cube, defrost it in the fridge overnight and warm a little at a time — use within 48 hours.
Are your meats halal?
The meats in our purées and finger foods are halal certified. In the toddler range, everything's halal except the kangaroo con carne, since I can't source halal kangaroo anywhere in Australia.
My baby has allergies — how do I check ingredients?
Every ingredient is listed plainly on every pack — no hidden "natural flavours," no fillers. Common allergens (dairy, fish, eggs, gluten) are called out on the label. If you're still working through introducing allergens, our guide is here: Introducing allergens to little ones.

Wait — liver? In baby food?
We get it, liver sounds intense. But it's one of the richest natural sources of iron there is, and in the box it's only a small part of a slow-cooked, veg-forward meal. The flavour comes out mild and slightly sweet, not the strong liver taste you're picturing. Most babies finish it without a clue it's in there — and you get the iron without cooking liver yourself on a Sunday.
Is it worth it?
Six chef-made meals, every one built around real iron — that works out to $4 a serve. Less than the faff of sourcing iron-dense cuts, cooking them down and freezing portions yourself, and a lot less worry than wondering if they got enough today. You're paying for the sourcing, the cooking and the freezer being handled — not a label on a pouch.

A daycare kitchen in Port Adelaide. August 2020.
I was running the kitchen at a daycare in Port Adelaide, cooking lamb and stews and curries for thirty kids who ate everything I made. A mum at pickup asked, "They eat so well here, what are you doing differently?" I said I was just cooking food I'd eat myself. The next week she came back and asked if she could take some home. Then another mum did, then another, then one of them said: "You should make this a business. No one's doing this in Adelaide." So I did.
Frozen baby food gets a bad rap and it shouldn't. We snap-freeze every batch within hours of cooking, which locks in nutrients and flavour better than a "fresh" jar sitting on a shelf for six months. No salt, no sugar, no preservatives, no fillers. Every ingredient on the label is something I'd cook with at home, and if I wouldn't put it in front of my own kid, it doesn't go in the box.
We cook one big run a week. Orders close Tuesday at 11pm, then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I'm in the kitchen cooking the lot. Boxes ship from Friday and arrive on your doorstep over the next few days, depending on the state. The whole rhythm exists so every meal you get is days old, not months. That's the point.
