Frequently asked questions

About our food

What makes Tiny Beets different?

Every meal is created by a chef and cooked in small batches in our kitchen in Arncliffe, Sydney, using Australian produce. Meals are portioned into 60g cubes, so you heat only what bub needs and they're ready in about two minutes from frozen. The range follows texture stages (smooth, textured and very textured, plus finger foods and toddler meals) so you can move along at bub's pace.

Are there any preservatives, additives, fillers, thickeners, or artificial colours or flavours?

No. There's nothing in our meals you wouldn't have in your own fridge or pantry. Because the food is frozen, there's no need to add anything to preserve it.

Are your ingredients sourced in Australia?

Yes. We source locally and buy from small greengrocers where we can.

Why does my meal look or taste a little different from last time?

Fruit and veg change with the seasons. We keep our recipes as consistent as we can, but sometimes we adjust the ratios to suit what's in season.

Are your trays BPA free?

Yes. They're BPA free, freezer safe and can go in your yellow recycling bin at home.

Are you halal?

Halal meats from certified suppliers. The certificates are on our website: see the certificates. The one exception is the Kangaroo Con Carne in our toddler range, because we can't get halal kangaroo. It's cooked separately with its own pot and utensils. More on our halal page.

What about allergens?

Every product page lists its ingredients and allergens, so please check each one. Our ingredients come from local suppliers who handle many foods, so we can't guarantee they haven't come into contact with other allergens. We sanitise the kitchen before every cook and between batches, but we can't promise there's no cross-contact.

Warning: our food is made in a shared facility where peanuts, eggs, tree nuts, sesame, fish and dairy may be present.

Storing and serving

How do I use the cubes?

Take out the number of cubes you need, put them in a microwave-safe bowl (or a bowl over a pan of simmering water) and heat until soft. Stir and serve.

How long can I store Tiny Beets meals?

Each pack keeps in the freezer for three months. Every pack has a best before date on it.

Delivery and pickup

How does delivery work?

Order by 11pm Tuesday (Sydney time) and your food goes out on Wednesday, with deliveries from Friday. In QLD, NSW, VIC and the ACT there's also an 11pm Sunday cut-off for our Monday run. You pick your delivery date at checkout. All the details, including fees, are on our delivery page.

Can I pick an exact day and time?

You choose your delivery date at checkout. Our couriers deliver between about 8am and 6pm, and you'll get a text the night before with your window. We can't promise a set time, so if you're on a tight schedule, aim for a date a day or two before you need it.

Do I need to be home?

No. Orders are left at your address without a signature. The gel packs keep it cold for 2 to 3 hours, so get it into the freezer as soon as you can. Add a safe spot note at checkout so it lands where you want it.

Can I change my delivery instructions?

Yes. Our courier needs 48 hours' notice before 10am, so for a Friday delivery we need to hear from you by 10am Wednesday. Just email us at info@tinybeetsfoods.com.au.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Email us at info@tinybeetsfoods.com.au as soon as you can. If it hasn't gone into a delivery run yet, we'll do our best to change it. Once an order has been dispatched we can't change it.

Can I pick up instead?

Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and collect for free from our kitchen in Arncliffe (Shop 2, 39-47 Forest Road). There's no minimum spend for pickup.

Ordering while you're away, or to a different address

I'm travelling. Can you deliver to where I'm staying?

Yes, as long as we deliver there. Pop the postcode into our checker at the top of the page first. If it's covered, use that address at checkout and choose a delivery date that suits.

Can I split one order across two addresses?

Each order goes to one address. If you'd like food at two places, just place two orders. The minimum order applies to each one ($75 for eastern states and SA metro, $100 elsewhere), and delivery is free on any order over $175.

Can I send an order to someone else?

Of course. Put their name and address in the delivery details at checkout. Orders are left at the door without a signature, so make sure someone can get it into the freezer soon after it arrives. The gel packs keep it cold for 2 to 3 hours.

I've already ordered. Can I change the address?

Email us at info@tinybeetsfoods.com.au as soon as you can, before your order's cut-off, and we'll update it. After the cut-off your box is already in that run, so we may not be able to change it.

Away over Christmas?

Order to arrive before you leave, or send it to where you'll be. Pickup from our Arncliffe kitchen is another option, with no minimum spend.

Still got a question? Email info@tinybeetsfoods.com.au and I'll sort it. Anthony

Was not fresh and damaged by frost and ice so im guessing the meals have been sitting in thier freezer for a long time.

Thank you for your review & would love to see some photos of the product with frost damage.

On average our food from production to leaving our kitchen is 2-3 weeks, we don't gas flush our products so there is a chance that residual air in the products can cause an icy look.

One of our favourites!

I wasn’t sure about this to begin with but it is now one of my little guys favourites - not something I would have thought of myself!
